Our Armchair is here

Hello,

Today we’re pleased to introduce two new pieces to Roseland: our Rolled Arm Chair and a Round Candle Stand.

The Rolled Arm Chair follows our Rolled Arm Sofa, sharing the same approach to proportion, construction, and natural materials. Its low arms let your shoulders relax, and the curved back supports your lumbar. One historic detail that we particularly like is the way the seat converges towards the rear, cradling your hips as you sit. It’s a small bit of geometry that has a lot to do with how it both looks and feels. It is made in North Carolina by Vanguard Furniture.

It’s currently available in a cream, American-woven 100% cotton twill, or upholstered in eight yards of your own fabric. We’re also planning Belgian linen slipcovers and additional fabric options by the end of the year. The slipcovers will fit chairs purchased now, so you’ll have the option to change the covering later.

The Round Candle Stand is a side table modeled on a late 18th-century piece in our collection. Each one is made by Jeff Puls in Missouri, using a single stave of solid cherry for the post and is finished by hand with linseed oil.

Thank you, as always, for following along. If you have any questions, do reply to this email (this is automated, but my response won’t be).

Best,

Luke Sherwin (owner)
